The Location
Date - 23rd March 2007
Location – A 16th Century former Priory, Nr Maidstone Kent
Team – Laura and Mark
We arrived at the location at around 7pm.
Our base room for the evening would be a room on one of the upper wings of the building.
Once in the room, I picked up on the feeling that the building had collapsed or, as I described at the time, "crumbled". I also sensed a male spirit, aged between 50 - 60 years of age, with well-defined lines on his face. I also got the names “Jacobs” and “Barbara”, which was all the information I got at that time. I tried to get more but he seemed to back off.
Next, I got a picture or vision of an old fashioned cafe on the seafront at the seaside, with little square windows and net curtains at the windows. At one of the tables near the windows, there were two men and a woman sat down, the two men one side of the table, with the woman facing them on the other side. Following this, I got the name Seabourne, followed by Mary – possibly Mary Seabourne.

About 7:40pm we left the base room to go and get some food before starting the investigation later on that evening. Before we departed, we left a couple of audio recorders running in the hope of capturing some EVP samples whilst we were away.
Down in the Restaurant
We were chatting away about nothing in particular, when I began to pick up some more information.
First, I got the feeling of the restaurant area being used as a chapel type resting area - I could see a coffin with a man inside and people coming to mourn and view him.
Then, after about 10 minutes or so, I picked up on a lady at the window, looking in. I felt really confused – this is the only way that I can describe it. The only other information that I got with this female spirit was, in her own words "They've taken everything". What she meant by this I have no idea as she was gone just as quick as she had came.
After eating, we moved into the lounge area for some soft drinks and to go over our plans for the investigation. We stayed here for a while just discussing and the only thing I picked up on in this area was a headache, blurred vision and tiredness.
We arrived back at the base room at about 11.15pm. We took lots of pictures of the area whilst we were setting up equipment ready for the investigation ahead of us. Nothing of any paranormal origin was found on the pictures that we took when we examined them at a later date.
At Midnight
As things worked out we found ourselves ready to go at midnight and kicked off with an attempt at glass divination. After about 10 minutes we both felt a slight twisting motion from the glass but no real definite movement. I then pictured a woman’s face in the top of the glass that we were using – in her late 20s or early 30s, with possibly the name “Caroline” and the year “1823”. I’m not sure if the date is related to her or is, in fact, something to do with the building itself.
We continued a little while longer in the hope that we may be able to make contact with spirit. However, with no real movement and minimum contact we decided to close the communication with the glass and try again later.
Laura taking notes
At around 12:25am we agreed to try sitting in silence for a while to see if maybe we sense or feel anything. We sat for around 25 minutes but neither of us felt or sensed anything at all during this session.
At 12:50am we decided to attempt a table tip session, although we were not confident it would be a success, as up until this point we had been unsuccessful with making contact, but we agreed to try regardless.
We sat at a small table and placed our fingertips very lightly on the edge of the table. We started asking questions and calling out in the hope of a response, after 20 minutes or so of calling out and asking questions without any reaction we decided to bring the table tipping session to a close.
At around 1:10am, with the feeling of something waiting to happen, we decided to keep on trying to make contact and again tried to make contact using glass divination.
Once again, lots of calling out and firing lots of questions failed to get any reaction or any movement from the glass.
Ten minutes into the communication attempt, I picked up on the date “1947”. There was nothing else with this, just the date. After a further ten minutes sitting, trying to communicate with spirit using the glass, there was still nothing, so we closed the communication down.
We started to chat and I commented to Mark that "it didn’t feel very active and was quiet". Immediately I said this, the TriField EM meter (1) triggered and gave a response.
This we found interesting, as it appeared a direct response to my comment of "being quiet". Details of the meter is provided below to get a better understanding of the device, but it is very reliable in operation compared to other EMF devices on the market and this was the only occasion during the entire investigation that it had gone off and gave a reading.
After a further 10 minutes I picked up on the name “Jacobs & Son” - a business with some kind of connection or significance to the priory. I’m not sure if this is connected to the earlier “Jacobs” that I had picked up on previously.
We sat quiet for a little while longer, again in the hope of maybe sensing or feeling something, but again nothing.
At around 1.50am we decided to try and make contact one more time, once again using the glass as a means of communication. We tried for a while with no success, so at 2.25am we decided to close down all communication and pack up for the night.

(1) We use the TriField Natural EM Meter MODEL 2. This model is approximately 10 times more sensitive that MODEL 1. As the name implies, the meter is highly sensitive and detects changes in weak static (DC or natural electric and magnetic fields), as opposed to the AC fields that the majority of the other meters on the market detect. The magnetic coil was not being used for this session.
