Automatic Writing
Automatic writing is a form of divination which has become increasingly popular in the past few years throughout development circles and on a personal level for people to try themselves.
Automatic writing needs a great amount of patience, especially to begin with, as the writing may be illegible and scrawl-like, making it difficult to read or make any sense.
Also, another thing to bear in mind here is that you may only get single words, names, or part sentences - again making it difficult to make sense of. It is kind of like putting the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle together, taking the information and slotting it in the right places.
How to do....
To start an automatic writing session...
First choose some writing paper and a pen which you will keep solely just for your automatic writing sessions.
Get yourself comfortable and relax, preferably in a quiet atmosphere, with no disturbances and let all tension go by taking some deep breaths.
Place the pen in a relaxed position in your writing hand, relax and soak up the atmosphere, sit back and wait for the writing to begin.
It will feel to you like someone else is controlling the pen and guiding your hand - very similar to the way your hand was guided when you were learning to write as a child.
Remember, you may not be successful in getting a reaction the first couple of times you try, so don't be put off by this. Eventually the pen will flow freely.
Some people compare automatic writing with psychic art. Some automatic writers include pictures with their writing, incorporating the two together.
Another form of automatic writing is use of a planchette...

A planchette is usually a triangle or heart shape board supported by castors, which enables the board to move freely. A pencil is attached to the board and the planchette is used to spell out messages or answer questions.
It does this by printing letters or even drawing on the paper which is underneath the planchette.
It can also be used as a pointer or indicator.
